Transitions Saxophone Quartet will explore the music of cultures and ethnicities around the world, and how each has contributed to the development and transformation of music style over hundreds of years. Audiences will enjoy music from the medieval, renaissance, classical and romantic periods with works by Perotin, Sweelinck, Palestrina, and Holst as well as more recent music styles of Jazz, Latin, Pop, R & B, Rock, and music of artists that include Dizzy Gillespie, Bill Haley and the comets, Stevie Wonder, and Toto.

The Smithtown Community Band is funded by Long Island Grants for the arts through funds provided by the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Huntington Arts Council.
