Program Description

Event Details

In the late 1960s, a young songwriter named Kris Kristofferson burst onto the Nashville scene. He was like nobody else in the world of country music—a former U.S. Army captain, Rhodes scholar and Golden Gloves boxer—and he wrote songs like nobody else before or since. He spent the next half-century as an iconic singer/songwriter, and also as a Hollywood star, headlining such films as Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, A Star Is Born, Heaven’s Gate and Lone Star. For many fans, he was simply the greatest songwriter in the history of country music.
